Italo-Brazilian collaboration has been renewed for the Minardi label. Beginning this season Minardi Management and the Tuka Rocha Racing School, the karting school of the Brazilian driver who raced with Minardi’s colours in the 2006 F3000 championship, will collaborate to help young Brazilian drivers grow, starting with kart and reaching up to professional contracts.
With Felipe Massa’s retirement Brazil now has no representatives at the highest level and the aim of this collaboration will be exactly that of training the next champions. Founded in 2006, today the school counts more than 300 students and is supported by the Senninha Association.
“We at Minardi Management are very happy to give our support to Tuka Rocha, he is a driver we know very well as we were together in F3000 in 2006, and to his driving school. Brazilian motor racing has a fantastic history that over the years has shown it can produce champions, Even Minardi’s history is tied to many Brazilian drivers, amongst which was also the great Ayrton Senna. Therefore it will be a real pleasure to observe young Italian drivers involved in the academy. Our aim is to help them grow and to try to take them to professionalism. Tuka is a great driver and will be able to pass on all his experience,” commented Giovanni Minardi.
“Brazil is passing through a difficult period in motor racing and our aim will be to train the next generation of drivers. Minardi Management knows its job very well and is very interested in our project. It has many drivers under contract who are followed by F1 teams and I am sure that together we will be able to achieve important results,” commented Tuka Rocha who is currently involved in the Stick Car championship as well.
