A new partnership between Minardi Management and Tuka Rocha Racing School

Italo-Brazilian collaboration has been renewed for the Minardi label. Beginning this season Minardi Management and the Tuka Rocha Racing School, the karting school of the Brazilian driver who raced with Minardi’s colours in the 2006 F3000 championship, will collaborate to help young Brazilian drivers grow, starting with kart and reaching up to professional contracts.

With Felipe Massa’s retirement Brazil now has no representatives at the highest level and the aim of this collaboration will be exactly that of training the next champions. Founded in 2006, today the school counts more than 300 students and is supported by the Senninha Association.

We at Minardi Management are very happy to give our support to Tuka Rocha, he is a driver we know very well as we were together in F3000 in 2006, and to his driving school. Brazilian motor racing has a fantastic history that over the years has shown it can produce champions, Even Minardi’s history is tied to many Brazilian drivers, amongst which was also the great Ayrton Senna. Therefore it will be a real pleasure to observe young Italian drivers involved in the academy. Our aim is to help them grow and to try to take them to professionalism. Tuka is a great driver and will be able to pass on all his experience,” commented Giovanni Minardi.

Brazil is passing through a difficult period in motor racing and our aim will be to train the next generation of drivers. Minardi Management knows its job very well and is very interested in our project. It has many drivers under contract who are followed by F1 teams and I am sure that together we will be able to achieve important results,” commented Tuka Rocha who is currently involved in the Stick Car championship as well.

Minardi Management welcomes Antonio D’Amico

Last year he was regularly amongst the protagonists of the Italian GT Championship and closed the season in third spot. This corporate partnership is a dream come true. I tie myself with a name that has a unique history in worldwide Motor-Sport. I carry with me all my experience gained in karting world that has gave me a lot of satisfactions and victories that have reached the top exactly last year with the world CIK FIA title along with Karol. There is a great harmony between Giovanni and me. By merging our karting and single-seaters experience, we can offer an unsurpassed knowledge to drivers, helping them grow to get pro. Now we are facing a challenging season and I hope that it continues in a positive way, also helping our sponsors to have the deserved prominence and investment satisfactionsAlberto Tonti says.

Minardi Management: Welcome Federico!

Minardi Management and Giovanni Minardi are pleased to welcome Federico Iribarne, born in 1998 in Lanus (Buenos Aires). Thanks to the strong friendship between Argentina and the Minardi family, Federico will make his debut in Italy behind the wheel of Tatuus Formula 4 of Marco Antonelli’s team, on the tracks of Imola (June 16th) and Mugello (June 23rd).

Busy in the 2015 Metropolitan Formula Championship, in his debut in the Old Country the 17-year-old driver will be managed by Giovanni Minardi and Miguel Angel Guerra. The appointment at the Enzo and Dino Ferrari circuit in Imola will be an opportunity to get acquainted with the team of Antonelli Motorsport and with the car which is protagonist of the Formula 4 Italia, before continuing the work on the track owned by Ferrari at Barberino del Mugello. Federico will be called to face two demanding tracks that are part of the International Motorsport history. “I‘m really happy to give this opportunity to Federico. For him, everything will be new. The team, the car, the circuit. Imola will be an opportunity to become familiar with the material and know the staff, and then continue the work at Mugello. We speak of two really selective circuits and full of pitfalls. A good test. In this debut, I will be alongside Federico, in order to give him all my support“, the manager Giovanni Minardi says.

First of all, I want to thank Castor Gonzalez and Miguel Angel Guerra for this great opportunity. On Tuesday I will be in Imola with the Antonelli Motorsport team, together with Giovanni and Gian Carlo Minardi, for a test with the F4. It will be my first outing in Europe and I hope to do a good job and a good impression. To get ready, I have studied the two circuits at the simulator“, Federico Iribarne says.

Kart – Minardi Management welcomes Riccardo

The family and the team of Minardi Management continue to grow. After the programs developed with the kart drivers Karol Basz, Gianni Vigorito, Matteo Nannini and Joao Vieira, who’s engaged in the Italian Formula 4, the newcomer is Riccardo Negro.

Winner of the WSK Euro Series and third placement in CIK-FIA World Championship in 2013, Riccardo’s commitment will be the CIK FIA European KZ2, for the first part of the season and the test at Muro Leccese in the WSK Super Master Series with Renda Racing Team, waiting to evaluate various options that are being presented entering the Minardi Management. “I’m really happy to have reached this partnership with Giovanni Minardi and Alberto Tonti, two people who know perfectly motorsport and karting world. I am sure that together we can celebrate many successes“, Riccardo Negro says.

The opening race of WSK Master Series Super at Adria International Raceway also inaugurated the season of Riccardo, after five months away from the circuit. For Riccardo, it was a weekend spent to find the pace and the right feeling with new team and CRG new material, in view of next round on La Conca kart track and starting the CIK FIA European KZ2. “I had never been so long without driving. Five months is a really long period of forced stop. I knew it was not easy, but not so much. Athletically, kart is a selective vehicle and you as soon as “stop” you pay the consequences. The weekend of Adria was important because it gave me the chance to race again and check my condition. Moreover, I had to quickly learn Rovigo’s circuit, where I had never raced. Unfortunately, a puncture in Qualifying made me loose sixteen positions, moving from eighth to last place. When you start so far back, it is hard to recover“, Riccardo concludes.

I am very happy with the arrival of Riccardo, both because we are talking about a very good driver and we now have our bearer in KZ that will achieve great results“, the manager Giovanni Minardi comments.

The arrival of Riccardo makes us pleased, because with him we are going to be in the top category, the KZ, where I won two European Championships. Riccardo is definitely one of the most emerging Italian drivers, and the missed results of 2014 were due to a lack of his competitiveness. Thanks to Renda Racing Team, he will race with a Wild Card agreement, with CRG materials. He relied on these materials and he worked well in the final, despite not being in top athletic condition“, Alberto Tonti, the supervisor Minardi Kart section analyses.

Kart – Minardi Management, welcome Matteo

Giovanni Minardi’s Minardi Management, together with the talent scout Alberto Tonti, is pleased to announce that is starting a partnership with Matteo Nannini.

The agreement with the young driver from Faenza, Matteo – born in 2003 – consolidates the presence of Minardi Management in karting, first real step of the pyramid in motorsport. Matteo joins the kart drivers Karol Basz, this year engaged with the colours of Kosmic Racing Team in CIK FIA European and CIK FIA World, and Gianni Vigorito, bearer of OK1 Racing Team in WSK Series, and the Brazilian Joao Vieira engaged in the Italian F.4 World Championship powered by Abarth with Antonelli Motorsport team.

In 2009, Matteo begins his adventure with Delfino kart and in 2012 he has already marked the first record participating in Championkart Championship – Rocky 50 cc category – with Sprintkart Team. At all stages in calendar, he gains the podium, closing the season with a third place in standings. In 2014 he get the title of Italian Champion – Class 60 mini – in Academy Promotion championship of Parolin, and thanks to 8 wins, 5 pole positions 3 second and 1 third placements. In Jesolo International championship he wins gara-1, closing the Final with a great second place.

This season Matteo Nannini will join in Rok – North Area – consisting of ten events on the Winner tracks of Nizza Monferrato, Lonato’s South Garda Karting, Track 7 Laghi and Adria International Raceway.

I’m very happy to have signed a long term contract with Matteo. Finally, I get back to the origins. After so long I go back to work together with a “Romagna DOC” driver. After Luca Casadei it has been a long time I didn’t have the good fortune to collaborate and share my passion with a fellow“, the manager Giovanni Minardi comments.

There’s again a pair that has written an important part of Italian Motorsport is in F.2 and in F.1 in the past: Minardi-Nannini. “The family tree of Matteo also includes one of my favourite drivers who already raced under our colours, the great Alessandro Nannini. Matteo is a very fast and determined guy, with excellent growth prospects. I’ve had the opportunity to observe him closely last year, dominating the entire season in Mini Academy Championship of Parolin. This year he is called to a new challenge in Rok. I am sure that will fight for victory from the first race“, concludes Minardi.

The new season is finally about to begin and this weekend I’ll be on track in Lonato for tests in view of the challenge at South Garda Karting on Marche the 13th and 15th. It will be a year of news and I want to start off as best as I can. New championship and new kart, which gets 120 km/h in the straight. Compared to the one of last year, it is heavier, so every night I follow a precise workout for the arms“, Matteo Nannini says.

Through its Facebook page, Matteo wanted to present also the livery of the new helmet.

Kart – Minardi Management and Vigorito together in WSK

On the occasion of the WSK Gold Cup, Minardi Management and Gianni Vigorito signed their partnership, starting their collaboration. With this champion from Sturno (Av), the presence of Minardi Management consolidates its position in karting, adding another element to its team, after Karol Basz and Joao Vieira.

Nearly twelve months after the last race in KF, the appointment at Adria International Raceway helped the bearer of OK1 Racing Team find the right pace. A weekend characterised by some technical problems and a puncture that denied Gianni the opportunity to better express his potential, closing the event with the twelfth place in the final. From next week, the WSK Master Series will still start at the Adria International Raceway in Rovigo.

I am really happy to start working alongside Gianni. Since 2012 I was trying to get him in my team. Gold Cup has been useful to remove some rust, after a 2014 away from tracks. We have signed a very interesting agreement with OK1 Racing Team, especially in the future. At Adria Gianni has not been particularly lucky, but certainly as early as next weekend we can fight for more important positions”, the manager Giovanni Minardi says.

Considering that it was my first race with the new team, after a year without racing, it was not bad. We were unlucky in the rounds on Saturday, in which I did not even have a lap, starting last in the pre-final. However, I managed to recover up to the 12th position. In the final, I had a great start, taking me up to the fifth place, but I closed in P12, because of some problems. I am aware that there is much work to do, but I am here for. This year begins a new chapter of my sporting activity alongside the Minardi Management. An incentive more to do well”, Gianni Vigorito comments.

“It has not been certainly the luckiest weekend for Gianni, but he has showed to have found rapidly pace and performances, in order to stay among the top six of the class. He is come back to competitions after nearly twelve months of absence and the Gold Cup has been the perfect opportunity to remove o bit of “rust”. I saw a good pace”, the supervisor of Minardi Kart, Alberto Tonti, analyzes.

Minardi Management: Welcome Karol

Minardi Management of Giovanni Minardi, together with the talent scout Alberto Tonti, is pleased to announce the partnership with Karol Basz.

The agreement with the Polish driver from Krakow launches Minardi Management in karting world, with the best driver in the field. Karol began the New Year under lucky stars, as a result of a great 2014. On the night of “WSK Gran Gala” at Adria International Raceway, the 22-year-old has been honoured for winning the title of Champions Cup, Final Cup and third place in Super Master Series.

I am really happy with this new agreement, with which starts a new era for Minardi Management. Karol is certainly the best driver in karting field and his successes of last season prove it. In recent weeks, we will work to train as best we can for the new racing season, having confirmation in karts, and also for a possible debut in GT world “, the manager Giovanni Minardi says.

A new path starts with Minardi and I am sure that the hard work will give us new important results. In the coming days we will decide the programs for 2015“, Karol Basz comments.

The streets of Minardi Management and Davide Rigon split up

After nine years full of successes in major championships, both within national and international borders, the manager from Faenza Giovanni Minardi and Ferrari driver Davide Rigon announce the end of their collaboration.

A pair that counts four drivers’ titles, thanks to double seals in F3000 in 2007 and Superleague Formula in 2008 and 2010, more than twenty successes and the landing at the court of Ferrari Racing Team, attending Rookye-tests in Silverstone and Magny-Course at the wheel of Ferrari F2012 and F138. In 2005, at the age of 18, thanks to Minardi F1 Team of Mr. Gian Carlo Minardi, it comes the debut in Formula 1 on Vallelunga track. There are satisfactions also in GT races, with victory in the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps of FIA GT World Championship, at the wheel of Ferrari F430, in Blancpain Endurance Series, International GT Open always with Prancing Horse Team, until the arrival to the Endurance World Championship, FIA WEC, with official Ferrari F458 of AF Corse. The most suffered year remains the 2011, marked by the terrible accident in Turkey during the opening round of GP2 Main Series, with the fracture of tibia and fibula.

Giovanni Minardi: “As in everything, there is a beginning and an end. This adventure has come to its end and it’s time for Davide to walk with his legs. In these recent years, we have gained many successes, despite the difficulties in recovering economic resources. Minardi Management followed Rigon since 2006, starting with the title of vice-champion of Formula 3 Italy, coming to cross the gates of Maranello as test driver at the disposal of Ferrari Racing Team for development activities of the car and for other sporting and commercial activities, as well as official driver in FIA WEC World Championship. I wish Davide a successful career and a Happy Christmas to him and his family“.

Davide Rigon: “These have been amazing years and full of successes. I want to thank both Giovanni Minardi and Gian Carlo Minardi, wishing them a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays“.
